Acoustic Released Sediment Traps

The Advisian Shallow Water Acoustic Release is a low cost highly reliable acoustically activated release device, designed for shallow water and light load applications.

The release is designed to be used with any moored equipment where reliability and ease of deployment are critical factors.

The burn through short loop is the best choice for deployments where acoustic release mechanisms can experience growth or sediment build up.

When the equipment is ready to be recovered, the transmitter will first locate the release, and will then send out a special coded signal, which commands it to release. The acoustic release will let go of the buoy and line, allowing the instrument, to be recovered to the surface. The release and surface flotation remains connected to the bottom section and associated mooring equipment for easy retrieval leaving nothing behind on the seafloor.
